Summer is in full force, which means it’s peak mermaid season! Whether you’re keeping cool in deep dark lakes or enjoying your frigid oasis, most can agree that taking a dip in water and cooling off from the heat is the best part about summer. Here at the Forgotten Mermaids studio we’re keeping the AC arctic-like while we work on new designs, which partially inspired our new colors for this summer… Forest Green and Ice Blue Mermaid Scale Temporary Tattoos! Forest Green and Both of these mermaid scale tattoos are here for the summer only. Deep in the tropical forests of the world live mermaids who have adapted to life in muddy rivers, dark lakes, and underwater caverns. Their striking green scales reflect the growth surrounding their homes, from the tree canopy that blocks out light all the way down to the moss covered stones that line their watery homes. 

Forest mermaids are mysterious and shy, keeping to the shadows while blending in with their surroundings. Their appearance, however, is anything but tame. When they are sighted, their looks are quite mesmerizing, but to come across a Forest Mermaid in the wild is both the luckiest and unluckiest thing that can happen to a person. An awestruck onlooker is easy prey, trapped in a haze of wonder and clueless to any danger. These mermaids want to be hidden but also seen, making them lethal when you have the misfortune of crossing one!

The frigid waters of the arctic are harsh and unforgiving, but below the surface of these cold seas is a world teeming with life and the home of the Ice mermaids. These creatures are pale and beautiful, their scales reflecting a bluish sheen in the midnight sun, their eyes dark and cold as the water they live in. 

Ice mermaids are unusual in that they live in frigid climates rather than more temperate areas, preferring to swim under the ice rather than under the sun. Their appearance by all accounts is mostly unknown, with no written record of their sightings. Only spoken tales passed down between generations exist, describing them as slow moving and lethargic, only ever seen during the midnight summer sun. One thing that can be agreed upon between these accounts is that their scales are the same color as ice, shiny and blue in the sun.
